Dear Coaches,

Due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy, we are postponing the third Senior A and B contest. Check the calendar for the new schedule.

Contest 3, which was originally scheduled for Oct. 31, will now be administered on Nov. 7.
Contest 4, which was originally scheduled for Nov. 7, will now be administered on Nov. 28.
Contest 5, which was originally scheduled for Nov. 28, will now be administered on Dec. 12.

If there is a conflict with another event on December 12, please let us know immediately by e-mailing exec@nyciml.org.

Dear Coaches,

Unfortunately we are unable to hold the Richard Geller Coaches’ Meeting on election day this year. We know that many of you wanted to have such a meeting. We will try to have one this academic year, but if not, we will try to hold another event for the coaches. Please stay in touch with us.

Dear Coaches,

Welcome back to NYCIML! The executive commmittee would like to inform you that registration for the NYCIML contests in the 2012-2013 academic year is now available, so please do not forget to register with us at http://www.nyciml.org/contests/registration/. The 2012-2013 schedule can be found at http://www.nyciml.org/contests/2012-2013-schedule/.

You may notice that we have used a new registration form: it is meant to function the same way that the Zoho registration forms did in the past.

As usual, contests will be distributed on the Sunday prior to the contest.

We will continue our fee waiver policy for new participating schools.

In order to honor your hard work, it is our pleasure to announce that this year’s NYCIML award ceremony will be held on Friday, June 8th from 4:00 pm. to 6:00 pm. at Google Inc. (111 Eight Avenue, New York, NY 10011). Invitations have been sent out to coaches, please RSVP and we will email you detailed information later.

Dear Coaches and Students,

We are still looking for rising college freshmen to be part of our executive committee. The deadline has been extended to July 15th. Interested candidates need to complete the application form and email back to us via exec@nyciml.org. For detail information, please see previous post.

The New York City Interscholastic Math League is accepting freshman members to serve on the Executive Committee in the upcoming school year. The Executive Committee consists of college students who have participated in the IML in high school. There are currently three senior, two junior, three sophomore, and two freshman members on the committee. Each new member expected to serve on the committee until he or she graduates from college. The executive members are assigned different roles within the organization each year. A more detailed job description of the committee members can be found here.

Joining the Executive Committee is a great opportunity to give back to the high school math team community and to learn about teamwork and leadership. Our current executive members have enjoyed maintaining the quality and integrity of the league’s contests, implementing new ideas and coming up with ways to reach out to more schools across New York City and beyond, as well as interacting with coaches and students from our participating schools.

Any graduating high school senior who is interested in joining the math league and whose character, vision, and dedication resembles who we seek is welcomed to apply. The application can be found here. The application should be filled out and returned to exec@nyciml.org by Friday, June 10th.
