As we come to the start of the new year of NYCIML contests, we hope all you math enthusiasts are getting ready and excited for the Fall 2008 season. If you haven’t yet registered, or signed up but not paid, please do so as soon as possible, as the contests will be sent out soon. (To visit our registration page, click here.) If you have registered, your contests should reach you sometime next week. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, and feel free to browse the site for new content being added.

Dear Math Team Coaches,

Hello and welcome to another exciting year of the New York City Interscholastic Math League. As you may know, David Linker has retired from the position of president of the NYCIML after many years of service, and we, Yitian Liu and Maria Guirguis, are the co-presidents of the league for the coming year.

As part of NYCIML continuing effort to move into the 21st century, registration will be done online for the first time this year. The registration for the 2008-2009 season is now open, and can be accessed at http://www.nyciml.org/contests/registration/

To promote the alumni leadership of the NYCIML, we are looking for two incoming college freshmen to join our executive committee. If you think any of your students who are graduating this year would be suitable for this position, and would benefit from participating in the organization, please send their names, contact information, and a short letter of reference to exec@nyciml.org.

Of course, the success of NYCIML would not be possible without the dedication of coaches like you. As always, we are accepting applications until early September, but ask that you register for NYCIML as soon as possible. Thank you all for your continued interest. We look forward to working with you to make this year our best one yet.
