The New York City Interscholastic Math League (NYCIML) will be sponsoring its annual citywide High School math team coaches’ training session at Stuyvesant High School (Room 407) on Professional Development Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2009. We would like to invite all high school principals and assistant principals of mathematics in schools that have math teams or are considering the formation of such a team to send their math team coach(es) to this series of workshops on Problem Solving. The materials provided will be valuable resources for the teachers in your department and will include problems and strategies applicable to all levels of mathematics, specifically, grades 9 – 12. There will be special presentations on starting a math team. Experienced coaches will have workshops on special topics to be taught to the math team.
If you will be sending one or more people to the November 3rd professional development session, please let us know by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org and indicate the number of people that will be attending. Please respond by Friday, October 23, 2009.
